On this ninth day of September

AD1871 personally appearred before me Clerk of the

County Court in and for said County William

W Hallam aged thirty-five years who being duly

sworn according to law declares that his is a pension-

er of the United States duly enrolled at the

Springfield Ill Agency at the rate of four

dollars per month by reason of disability incurred

in the military service of the United States as a

Private in Company "A" of the 86th Regt Ills Vols

That his present physical condition is such that

he believes himself entitled to receive an increased

pension and that he herewith returns his present

pension certificate

He further declares that he is disabled in the

fllowing manner to wit: At the Battle of

Rome Georgia on or about the 17th day of May

AD 1864 he was wounded by a musket ball

in left leg entering below the thigh & coming

out under the knee joint. From the knee down

the leg is partially paralyzed & for three fourths

of the time he is unable to perform the labor

required in his profession that of farmer

that he is constantly lame this leg is weak

that he cannot walk or stand up on it

for any length of time. That he hereby appoints



Joseph F. Culues of Pontiac Illinois his

attorney to prosecute his claim That his residual

is in Long Point Township Livingston County

Illinois and his Post Office address is

Long POint, Livingston County Illinois [signed William W Hallam]





Also personally appeared Otho F. Peurre and

John A Fellows residing in Livingston County

Illinois persons whom I certify to be respectable and

entitled to credit and whom being by me duly

sworn say they were present and saw William W

Hallam the claimant sign his name to the

foregoing declaration that they have every reason

to believe from the appearance of said claimant

and their acquaintence with him that he is the

identical person he represents himself to be and that

they have no interest in the prosecution of this

John A. Fellows




of September AD 1871 and I certify that the

contents of the above declaration were fully made

known and explained to the applicant and

witnesses before swearing and that I have no interest

direct or indirect in the prosecution of this claim
